First and foremost, happy belated Mother’s Day to all of my lovely momma’s. I had a relaxing day hanging out with Max while Dad took the boys to a family party. He is officially one week old, which makes me realize it’s time to snap some newborn pictures before we blink and he’s a 3 month old.
Something came over me yesterday where I felt the urge to do things I couldn’t throughout the pregnancy. So within a 30 minute span I whipped up these delicious cinnamon swirl sour cream breads, tasted the raw batter (heaven) and painted some sample colors on the wall. I have been dying to paint our first floor, but finding that perfect shade of gray we are hunting for is proving to be quite a task + it is driving me nuts! Hopefully I’ll be rolling by the end of the week, so long as my energy level and uterus cooperates 🙂
So, back to the bread. Super simple recipe – made with sour cream which can easily be substituted for greek yogurt if you’re minding your thighs this upcoming bikini season. But, I say do the cream – there’s no harm in treating yourself. You have my permission.
My crumb topping ratio was incorrect – hence the coloring. I blame it on the lack of sleep. But, if you follow the original gal’s recipe over at Something Swanky I’m sure you’ll hit it out of the park. I contemplated making one more round to get the topping just right, but let’s face it, it was still totally delicious and I figured you guys would let me slide this one time and just share the darn recipe as is.
The bread is so moist and subtle in sweetness which I love. Not to sweet and the perfect dose of cinnamon.
The boys ate it up and I’m grateful I doubled the recipe to make two loaf, it’s well worth it! Keep it in the fridge and warm it up as you go. MmMmMm…
On another note, the boys are rocking the big brother gig. Super interested, but not too much. Super loving, and not jealous. Adjusting so well and enjoying their time together as “the big brothers now” and they are tied at the hip keeping each other busy which has made the transition much smoother.
Just look at these boys, ugh. Can’t believe they are all mine.
Max, you have brought us so much joy!
