What do you do when you don’t feel like forking over a paycheck for family portraits?

Take them yourself folks!

We have had the most gorgeous stretch of warmer days here, and had to take advantage of it!

After looking at these I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that these are our FIRST family pictures we’ve ever taken.

The majority of the leaves have already fallen off of the trees – and it created a gorgeous backdrop.  You would think the opposite – but there was something about the bare trees that gave these pictures their own unique look.

So in LOVE.

Don’t you love them? I know they are not edited yet, but I like that they are truly all our own.

Cannot wait to get these in frames and up in our hallway upstairs!

Lesson learned here, do not be afraid to step out of the norm and take pictures yourself.

The money we saved, and the memories we made –

It was a picture perfect day.

What did we use to achieve this? Our recent Amazon purchases that we are loving!

Our Camera

Our Remote Shutter Release

These two items + an old tri pod allowed us to take these pictures all on our own! I have used this camera for months and am smitten with my pictures I get.  And the remote shutter release is a little hand-held button that helps you snap the picture from a distance when your camera and tri pod are set up! Genius!

I truly love these pictures. So natural. One after the other cuter & cuter. I see Christmas shots you did yourself in your future.
