Summer at Home!

Summer days at home are by far, without a doubt, my favorite time of year.  But, with three kids at home around the clock, it can prove to be quite a challenge in the great attempt to keep them busy! Brody + Owen manage to do a decent job with bouncing around with different activities throughout the day – it’s our mighty Max that needs a little push to entertain himself.

Dan and I knew we wanted to add something to our backyard that Max could enjoy all on his own, without needing to pull us in for playtime every few minutes.  When I came across this darling Backyard Discovery playhouse, I knew it was the ticket to summer time fun!

Can you even handle the cuteness? Of course we had to be a bit “extra” and give him his very own herb garden, that I will be sure he tends do on a daily basis (wink wink).  The galvanized steel raised planter is SO cool, I wish I would have ordered a few more to put other vegetables in.

I added two tiny black pots to the window boxes, and added some faux boxwood stems so that Max can switch up his home decor in a flash. HA! Seriously, though, I am a little jealous they do not have this gorgeous cedar playhouse in adult size – I would be sold!

I love that this piece is 100% cedar wood.  It is not an eye sore of a playhouse in the backyard, and has quickly turned into such a focal point in our mulch beds!

Yes, our hammock looks like it is 20 feet high on our trees.  Guess what? It is! We ordered the wrong length, so unless you are an NBA player with the perks of being over six feet tall – you will not be enjoying that hammock here this summer.

I cannot wait to watch all of the sweet memories unfold with Max this summer in this playhouse.  We’ve already turned it into an icecream shop and pizzeria in day ONE!
